PlayCrypt exploits unpatched vulnerabilities and weak credentials to gain access, encrypt data, and demand hefty ransoms.

• Ensure all systems and applications are up to date with the latest security patches. 

• Implement robust access controls – limit privileges to only what’s necessary and monitor for unusual activity. 

• Regularly back up important data and store backups offline to prevent ransomware from encrypting them.
